Pair of Kunisada "Genji Monogatari" Woodblocks
Utagawa Kunisada "Utagawa Toyokuni III" (Japanese, 1786-1865). Pair of woodblock prints from "Genji Monogatari" depicting women entertaining on a veranda above a body of water filled with koi fish, ca. 1847-52. Two from a series of three prints.
(Each) Height: 14 1/2 in x width: 10 in.
Condition: There are no visible tears. There is a crease across the upper left quadrant of the second image, measuring approximately 7 inches. There are minute losses throughout, in particular along the lower left quadrant of the second sheet. The sheets are yellowed and have minute faint foxing. There are no signs of restoration under UV light. Not in frame.
