2 Japanese Calligraphy Scrolls
Group of two Japanese calligraphy scrolls. Both are bordered by brocaded silk.
(Smaller) Huaxin; height: 12 in x width: 16 1/2 in. Scroll; height: 43 3/4 in x width: 18 in. (Larger) Huaxin; height: 38 in x width: 19 in. Scroll; height: 70 3/4 in x width: 24 1/2 in.
Condition: The smaller scroll is lacking both handles. Creasing throughout. Some areas of toning, foxing, and small stains along the surface of the calligraphy. The silk backing along the verso of the scroll has shattered and is very worn. To the larger scroll there is toning, foxing, and some areas of soiling throughout the scroll.
