Japanese Lacquerware Bento Box with Finches
Japanese lacquerware bento box decorated with mother-of-pearl Ikaru finches within a cage. With a maki-e gold fleck interior. Meiji period ca. 19th century. Consisting of four pieces - three boxes and a lid.
Height: 6 1/2 in x width: 8 1/4 in x depth: 5 3/4 in.
Condition: There are no major splits or cracks. There are some signs of light moisture exposure. Scratches which have led to lacquer loss throughout. Some small chips to the interior.
