Tatsuzo Shimaoka Covered Bowl and Incense Burner
Attributed Tatsuzo Shimaoka covered bowl and incense burner or pot, marked along the bottom. Both are excellent examples of the artist's style and Japanese studio pottery in general.
(Bowl) Height: 5 in x diameter: 5 in. (Incense Burner) Height: 2 1/2 in x width: 5 3/4 in x depth: 5 3/4 in.
Condition: Very minor wear on the exterior of the incense burner with dust and ash on the bottom of the interior. Very minor wear on the interior of the bowl lid. There are no visible cracks in the pot or the glaze.
