Pre-Columbian Jalisco Standing Female Figure
Pre-Columbian Jalisco ceramic figure of a standing woman, posed with her feet planted and her arms outstretched. Retains much of the original red decoration. William Atkins' home and collection were featured in the Spring 1970 edition of "Living Now" magazine.
Provenance: From the collection of William Atkins, Minnesota; Private Minnesota Collection.
Literature: Monaghan Corpus, Martha. "Making it in Minneapolis." Living Now, Spring 1970: 28-37.
Height: 9 1/4 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/2 in.
Condition: No major cracks, losses, or restorations. Crazing to the glaze throughout. Small losses to the painted decoration throughout, evident in photos. Some small areas of pitting throughout.
