19th c. Antique Swiss Music Box
Large 19th century antique Swiss cylinder, drum, and bell music box. With a paper label along the interior of the lid reading "8 Airs. Bells Drum Visible." and with a list of the songs played: "Estudiantina, " "La Princesse des Canaries, " "Is it likely? Oh dear no, " "Only a pansy blossom, " "Herr mein Herr, " two "Nell Gwynne, " and "Petersburger Champagne."
Height: 9 1/2 in x width: 17 1/2 in x depth: 11 in.
Condition: The music box has been tested and runs well. Wear to the paper insert including toning, some losses, tears, and some soiling. Wear to the box including scratches, some chips to the lacquer, Some cracks/splits, and some warping. The lid closes but does not latch easily. Lacking a key to lock the box.
