Eric Austen Erickson (American, 1920-2017). Gouache on paper painting titled "Dusk" depicting downtown Minneapolis at the end of the day, 1985. Initialed and dated along the lower right. With a label from Groveland Gallery affixed to the verso.
Eric Austen Erickson studied art before World War II and continued his education after military service under notable artists like Victor Thall, Max Beckman, Milton Hebald, and Cameron Booth. He taught at multiple art institutions in Minnesota and drew inspiration from urban landscapes, creating works that captured the essence of specific places while allowing room for interpretation and emotion.
