Russian Orthodox St. Nicholas Oil Painting
Late 18th to early 19th century Russian Orthodox oil on board icon painting of St. Nicholas. The Virgin Mary floats in the upper left corner while opposite her in the upper right floats Jesus Christ. St. Nicholas raises one hand in benediction while the other holds a book.
Unframed; height: 10 1/4 in x width: 8 1/4 in x depth: 1 in.
Condition: The colors are faded. There is craquelure and losses throughout particularly along the hands and face. Some small dents and cracks from the wood. A few chips along the edges. There are boreholes along the verso. There is a slight bend to the panel.
