Frederic Martens (French, 1809-1875). Hand-colored engraving titled "Fontaine des Innocents" depicting the Parisian monument. From "Paris en 1832" published by Martens.
Provenance: Stanton L. Catlin, former director of the Center for Inter-American Relations; thence by descent.
Sight; height: 5 in x width: 7 1/4 in. Framed; height: 8 in x width: 10 in x depth: 1/2 in.
Condition: There are no losses, tears, or creases to the sheet. The sheet is toned, and there is foxing, soiling, and discoloration throughout. There is crazing across the center of the sheet. Framed under glass. No signs of restoration under UV light. Not examined out of frame. Wear and losses to frame.
