Abraham Lincoln Civil War Signed Document 1864
Historical vellum document signed by the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). His signature appears in the lower left corner of the document. Dated June 30, 1864. This document appointing a James McIntire as Additional Paymaster of Volunteers in service of the United States army during the Civil War. The document is countersigned by Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton. Recording docket of Adjutant General's Office. Complete with the seal.
Provenance: Freeman's, Philadelphia.
Sight; height: 18 1/4 in x width: 14 1/2 in. Framed; height: 25 1/2 in x width: 22 in x depth: 1 in.
Condition: The sheet is toned. There are no major visible tears or losses. There are creases throughout, consistent with folding. Light soiling and discoloration throughout, as expected with age. Minute losses along the lower left. Housed under an acidic mat. Framed under plexiglass; light wear to the frame. Not inspected out of frame.
