Jack Barkla "Cubist Figure" Painting
Jack Barkla (American, 20th/21st c). Oil on canvas painting titled "Cubist Figure" depicting a cubist male nude torso. Signed and titled along the verso.
Barkla is a lifelong resident of Minnesota having grown up in Edina and attended the University of Minnesota. He has performed and designed for numerous theater companies including the Guthrie. He also designed flower shows for Dayton's (later Marshall Fields and then Macy's) department store. Other clients of his have included Prince, Princess Grace of Monaco, and Jennifer Lopez.
Height: 24 in x width: 24 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.
Condition: The colors are bold and deep. The surface is stable. There are no major visible tears, creases, losses, or restorations. There are a few light accretions throughout. Light wear to the edges. The work is not framed.
