Christopher Bucklow "Guest" Series Print 1995
Christopher Bucklow (British, b. 1957). Unique dye destruction photogram print from the "Guest" series titled "Guest, [M.B.] 25,000 Solar Images, 3:06 PM, 12 August 1995."
To create these works Bucklow photographed the sun using a multiple pinhole camera created from a cardboard box. He then punched out a pattern, allowing him to make thousands of images at the same time. These miniscule images of the sun join together to form the figure.
The "guests" in this series are only created if Bucklow has dreamt of them, explaining that these figures represent sub-selves and that "one’s friends are psychologically significant mirrors of one’s own interior."
