A silver Half Shekel of Tyre. Obv: Laureate head of Melkarth, the Phoenician Hercules facing right; lion skin around his neck. Rev: Eagle standing left on prow in centre; to left date and club of Hercules below; monogram to right, Phoenician B between legs; Greek inscription around, ' of Tyre the sacred and the city of refuge'.
20½ mm. 6.89 gr. axis 12. Date CY 40, 86/5 B.C.E. - reign of Alexander Yannai.
