Nima Novik, b. 1932, oil on canvas, 45 by 55 cm, signed, 2019
She was born in 1932 in Ramat Gan to the Novik family. Even as a child, her father, Zeev Novik, used to take her on many tours around Mandatory Palestine. The father searched for plots of land for purchase, while the little filth was deeply impressed by the landscapes of the land and began to sketch and paint those plots and landscapes. Those early drawings and paintings formed a central basis for her later paintings as a mature and mature artist.
Nima began her artistic education as a drawing and painting student at the Avni Institute of Painting and Sculpture under the tutelage of the painter Starkman. She then continued her studies with the painter Props. He was, among other things, a pioneer in the merging of postcards among Jerusalem's religious society, and after her marriage, and especially in the 1960s and 1970s, Nima focused on painting models in an abstract style.
In the early 1980s, Nima was exposed to new channels of study, and in 1984 she joined the studio of the painter Yoav Shuali in Givatayim. As part of her studies, Nima acquired advanced techniques and returned to focus mainly on painting the landscapes of the Land of Israel. In the years 1987-1989, she studied sculpture at the Art College in Ramat Hasharon with the sculptor Sonia Natra. In 1992, she received a certificate of appreciation for her artistic achievements from the Bnei Brit Association.
