PAUL W. TIBBETS
(1915 - 2007) American bomber pilot of the Enola Gay which delivered the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, August 6, 1945. Excellent signed desk model of the Enola Gay, Scale 1/72, signed by Tibbets in bold black ink on top of the right wing. The piece measures 16.25 in. long, 22.75 in. wide, 6.5 in. tall. Fine condition, set on a black-painted wooden base and labelled: 'B-29 Superfortress 'Enola Gay' Piloted by Colonel Paul W. Tibbets, USAAF'.
