VASILY SOKOLOVSKY
(1897 - 1968) Key member of the Soviet war command during World War II and an excellent planner and military leader, much trusted by Zhukov. Partly-printed D.S., 2pp. legal folio, [n.p], 1948, a military attestation of the Head of the Personnel Department of the Artillery Headquarters who led a group of Soviet Occupational troops in Germany. Sokolovsky signs in blue ink in the middle of second page as 'Head Commander of the Soviet occupational Troops in Germany, Marshal of the USSR.' Fine.
