WILHELM GROENER
(1867 - 1939) German soldier and politician, second in command of the German army who oversaw the retreat and demobilization of the defeated German army after World War I. As anti-Nazi Minister of Defense, he was humiliated by Goring and left public service. A.L.S. in German, 1p. 8vo., Berlin, Dec. 16, 1933, untranslated. Large signature at the conclusion. Mailing fold, else fine. SOLD WITH: T.L.S. in German from his wife Ruth, 2pp. 4to., Marbach, Feb. 10, 1960, forwarding a signed photograph of her husband (not present) to a collector. Fine.
