The coin of Elijah, issued by the Tifereth Israel Temple in Colombus, Cleveland, Ohio. Peace be to thee and all thy house. On the reverse is a version of an ancient Jewish coin, possibly a variation of the Gorlitz Shekel. Apparently, used as a token.
The Tifereth Israel synagogue was established in 1850 and is one of the oldest synagogues in the United States. It was led for many years by the renowned Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver.
The United States. Apparently, circa the late 19th century. Diameter: approximately 2.5 cm. Good condition, wear.
