Double flask, reddish clay decorated with red spiral pattern. Two rounded handles drawn from a flaring rim to the shoulder.
The flask is attached to another flask at the back, forming one vessel. Cf: Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, Jerusalem 1969, p. 271, pic. no. 278 for similar. 15 x 10 cm. some abrasion to fabric and colouring. One neck repaired.
The Iron Age I (1200- 1000 B.C.E) is the period of the conquest of the Land of Canaan and the settlement of the Land by the Israelites. The period ended approximately with the ascendancy of Kings Saul and David.
