A "Shanah Tovah" (New Year) card, photographs and a food voucher which apparently, belonged to a Holocaust survivor from the Buchenwald Camp. Various German cities [possibly, some items are from other countries], 1946-1948.
1. "Shanah Tovah" (New Year) card, 1949, with a photo of the sender. Illustration of two ships on their way to Israel under a pair of doves carrying signs in their beaks: "1949". Printed on top and bottom margins: "The year and its curses are finished, a year and its blessings should commence, you should be written for a good year" (Hebew).
2. Food voucher for concentration camp survivors (Bezugsnachweis für Lebensmittelzulagen für ehemalige KZ-Insassen), issued for David Steinman by the
Staatsministerium des Innern Staatskommissariat für rassisch, religiös und politisch Verfolgte.
3-17. Fifteen black and white photos (apparently, post-war Europe): a couple standing under the wedding canopy, group photos of wedding guests, portraits and others.
Handwritten inscriptions on verso of five (Yiddish and other languages), dated 1946-1948. One inscription notes "Schwarznborn DP Lager".
Enclosed: Declaration under oath, typewritten leaf signed by David Steinman, submitted to the Small Claims Court in Hadera in 1949 (open tear in center affecting writing).
Size and condition vary. Overall good-fair condition.
