The Admor Rabbi Yosef Landau, Av Beit Din of Iasi, author of Birkat Yosef [1791-1854], was one of the Chassidic leaders, a disciple of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, Rabbi Baruch of Mezhibuzh and the rabbi of Apta.
