Small format Esther scroll, in an olive-wood and silver case. [Italy, 18th or 19th century / Eretz Israel, first decades of the 20th century]. Ink on parchment; carved wood; filigree and granulated silver. Esther scroll in Italian script (typical of the 18th or 19th century), shiny yellowish-brown parchment. The scroll is wound on a wooden roller, ornamented with filigree and granulation, and placed in a folk-crafted case of filigree and granulated silver in geometric motifs. 16 lines per column. Height of parchment: 10 cm. Height of case: approx. 28.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Breaks to upper part of wooden roller. Bends, damage and breaks to silver. Some silver beads missing.
