*Letter in his own handwriting and signature, to Rabbi Mordechai and to his friends, "My faithful friends" Slonim "Chassidim" in Tiberias, regarding Eretz Yisrael monies and other questions. On the reverse side are several letters to his "Chassidim" regarding various matters and accounts of "Sending money".
*Summaries of Torah and Chassidic thoughts: "With G-d's loving kindness I shall write holy inscriptions for memorial with mercy".
Rebbe Shmuel Weinberg (1850-1896). Grandson of the first Rebbe of Slonim, author of "Yesod Ha'Avodah", at the age of 34 was appointed Rebbe instead of his grandfather in 1884. In a letter which he wrote at that time to his teacher and rabbi, Rabbi David Moshe of Chortkov, he modestly writes "His mercy should be abundant on the miserable soul who is surrounded from all sides by tribulations. The "Chassidim" are mistaken about me and wish me to err in regard to myself. Woe to me if I accept their offer, they will remain without a real leader and I will be troubled in both worlds, perhaps I should flee the country…" He headed Kollel Reisin in Eretz Yisrael, and sent much money to reinforce the settlement in Tiberias which was composed mainly of Slonim "Chassidim".
7 written pages, approximately 21 cm. Good-fair condition, stains, wear and minor tears.
