Divrei Shlomo, Venice, 1596 - Copy Signed by Admor Rabbi Nachum Dovber Friedman of Sadigura
Divrei Shlomo, Torah, Halacha and Aggadah interpretations by Rabbi Shlomo HaLevi. Venice, 1596. Only edition. Authored by Gaon Rabbi Shlomo HaLevi HaZaken (1532-1600) son of Rabbi Yitzchak, of the Portugal exiled. He was the rabbi of Salonika and among the leading sages of his generation. Other essays he authored were also printed: the "Lev Avot" (Salonika 1560) and the "Lechem Shlomo" (Venice 1597).
Stamped by Admor Rabbi Nachum Duber Friedman of Sadigura with an ink-stamp featuring a lion in the center, "Nachum Dovber Friedman" and a second stamp "Kinyan Kaspi" [acquired with my money, a stamp he would use to mark the books he purchased, as opposed to the ones he received; his Torah library was of the greatest among his contemporaries]. Admor Rabbi Nachum Dovber Friedman (passed away in 1883, Otzar Ha-Rabbanim 15912), son of Admor Rabbi Shalom Yosef of Ruzhin and his uncle's son in law, Admor Rabbi Avraham Ya'akov of Sadigura - holy sons of Rabbi Israel of Ruzhin.
Signature in Oriental-Italian handwriting on the title page by Rabbi "Yehuda son of Rabbi Eliezer". Numerous glosses in Italian-Oriental handwriting from the time of print.
217, 214-314; 14 leaves. 28.5 cm. Good condition, stains, light moth damage. Antique, luxurious, worn out leather binding.
