Manuscript Shiltei Ha-Zahav, Vol.2 on Yoreh De'ah, Simanim 119-164, to clarify the words of the Taz from the questions raised by the Shach, Rabbi Ya'akov Aryeh Salant. [Jerusalem, c.1900]. Autographic writing by the author with additions and deletions.
Includes: a leaf of novellae on Orach Chaim, where he brings up situations where he has agreed with Rabbi Shmuel Salant's halachic verdicts. Additionally, there is a long letter from 1904 - a booklet of insights on the "Shiltei Ha-Zahav" vol.1- which was sent to Rabbi Ya'akov Aryeh from Rabbi "Zvi Hirsch Baharal" [Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Baharan (1883-1935), son of Rabbi Asher Lemel son of Rabbi Nachum of Zhad'ky. One of Rabbi Hirsch Michel Shapira's greatest disciples, who published some of his novellae in various compilations under the pseudonym "Ha-Tzahir"].
The author: Rabbi Ya'akov Aryeh Leib son of Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Levinson-Salant (1835-1907), of the leading Torah figures in Jerusalem, moved to Jerusalem as a child with his grandfather Rabbi Ze'ev Asya, who was wise, pious and modest. Authored the "Shiltei Ha-Zahav" vol.1 on Yoreh De'ah up to Siman 110 (Jerusalem 1899) and the "She'erit Ya'akov- Imrei Noam" (Jerusalem 1883).
Twenty-one pages covered with Rabbi Ya'akov Aryeh Salant's handwriting + a 16 page letter handwritten by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Baharan. Good-fair condition, some leaves are worn.
