Machzor for Festivals with Russian translation. Vilna and Eydtkuhnen. 1875. First edition.
Machzor for Succot, Pesach, and Shavuot. Translated into Russian by Moshe ben Yaacov Goldstein. Vilna and Eydtkuhnen. 1875. First edition of Machzor with Russian translation. For Succot: [2] 278 pages. For Pesach [2] 198 pages. For Shavuot [2] 118 pages, 12 cm. The Russian translation is presented opposite the Hebrew text. Headings in Hebrew and Russian. Rare first edition of Machzor with Russian translation. Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Machzors also printed in this edition. Eydtkuhnen was home to a Hebrew printing press from 1872 to 1874 and only printed about 15 books. The Succot Machzor was printed in Eydtkuhnen and in Vilna, at the press of M. R. Re’em and A. Katzenelenbogen. Especially rare. The Mifal HaBibliography listed this edition according to a copy in the National Library that only contains the first title page for Succot, and they have none for Pesach and Shavuot. Old binding. Aging stains. Fine-very fine condition.
