S’dei Chemed, collection of laws part one. Warsaw, 1891. First edition. Handwritten dedication from the author. 7, 4 -568 [2] pages, 32 cm. Behind the title page printed sticker mazkeret ahavat dodim with the author’s dedication. The exhibited copy also has the recipient’s name written by the author: the precious honorable Rabbi, my friend Rabbi Shlomo, shochet and bodek in Savas, son-in-law of my dear friend Michal Cheifetz, shochet and bodek. Has the rabbinical stamp of the author, Rabbi of Krasau-Bazaar. Rabbi Chaim Chizkiyahu Medini [1833-1905] Rabbi in Krasau-Bazaar (Bilohirsk in Crimea) and in Hebron. Tremendous gaon, outstanding knowledgeable scholar, one of the giants of the later halachic decisors. His comprehensive book is considered the Encyclopedia of Jewish Law and was distributed extensively among the Jewish communities. Old binding. Tear on the corner of the title page without damage to the text. A few pages are loose. Moderate-fine condition.
