French Songbird and Bird Cage Automaton High Quality
High quality and impressive automaton, France, early 20th century.
Metal cage painted with gilten leaf embossings, with a hanging hoop on its top.
Songbird singing on tree branches, when the stretch mechanism is activated the bird sounds its sweet tunes, turns her head from side to side, and wags its tale up and down. Another mechanism for timing end ending the bird's singing. The bird's wings are made of natural bird wings.
