Ohr Chadash Part II. Elucidations on Tractate Pesachim by Rabbi Elazar Kalir. First edition. Including the signature and several glosses in the hand of the gaon Rabbi Mordechai Adler of Hanover, father of the chief rabbi of England, Rabbi Nathan Marcus Adler.
The gaon Rabbi Elazar Kalir [1638-1702], was a rabbinic leader of his generation. He was Av Beit Din of Zablodova, Rechnitz, Old Oyben, Vishnitza (and then in place of the author of Baruch Ta'am), and other towns. His sons-in-law were Rabbi Yitzchak Frankel of Lichtenstadt, and Rabbi David, son of Tzvi Hirsch Horowitz, author of Machaneh Levi.
The gaon Rabbi Mordechai Adler [1651-1734] was a dayan in Frankfurt and then rabbi of Hanover. He was the father of Nathan Marcus Adler, rabbi of Hanover, later appointed rabbi of England.
