Moscow: Fiction, 1936, 131 p. Hard cover. 13 x 17 cm. Cracks on the spine.
Alexey Mikhailovich Faiko (1893-1978) was a Russian Soviet playwright. His success was brought by the stage spectacular play with a detective story "Lake Lule" (1923), which takes place in an abstract country, with many ironic allusions to capitalists and revolutionaries. In his plays "the Teacher Bubus" (1925), staged by Vs. Meyerhold in his theater with 46 musical inserts from Liszt and Chopin, or "Evgraf, the adventurer" (1926), the adventure plot is combined with actual satire. A great stage success was the play "The man with a briefcase", a satire on the Soviet careerist from science.
Author of the libretto of T. N. Khrennikov's operas "In the storm" and "Mother" (after M. Gorky).
He was engaged in translations of plays by playwrights of the USSR. The inscription of Em. Mindlin.
