Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Weintraub the Rav of Karlin to the confidante of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky, Semiatitsh, 1927.
In the letter, the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel deals with the distribution of funds and clothes to yeshiva students and more. The letter refers to the Gaon of Krinik Shalita, Rabbi Chizkiyahu Yosef Mishkovsky Shalita.
The Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Weintraub (1894-1942) one ofthe greatest of his generation. Served as the Rosh Yeshiva of the Beis Yosef DeNovhardok yeshiva in Pinsk and as the Rav of Karlin. In his youth he studied with the Saba of Novhardok to whom he was closely attached. He also studied at the Telz yeshiva with the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Gordon. With the establishment of the chain of the Novhardok yeshivas, he was appointed the Rosh Yeshiva of the Berditchev branch and later of several other yeshivas. Later he was appointed the Rav of Karlin.
