Amethyst gemstone is a pure gemstone called in Hebrew Ibn Ahlema and was one of the high priest's breastplate stones. Healing properties are attributed to the stone, hence its name in Hebrew. The origin of the natural stone is the mineral amethyst which belongs to the quartz family. The amethyst type gemstone appears in different shades of purple and white and sometimes red and blue shades appear in it.
