Ukiyo-e Masterpieces in the Collection of the Ota Memorial Museum of Art, 1988.
Ukiyo-e (Japanese: picture of the floating world) are the colorful paintings and woodcuts made in Japan during the Edo period from the beginning of the 17th century to the middle of the 19th century. The prints depict landscapes, Kabuki theater actors, famous sites in Japan and more. This book includes nearly 150 beautiful color reproductions, many of them full page.
