Rare and Expensive: Miriam's Garden of Miracles - A Book for Jewish Children - Berlin 1935
Setta Cohn-Richter: Mirjams Wundergarten, Ein Buch für Jüdische Kinder, Illstriert von Joseph Avrach.
Verlag Erwin Lowe, Berlin, 1935.
The first and only edition of the book, considered very rare today. The chapters of the book deal with the adventures and imaginary journeys of little Miriam with her toy animals, and through them, teach the Jewish children about the holidays and the daily guests of the Jews. It is a wonder that the book was published in 1935, about two years after the rise of the Nazis and the burning of the books in Berlin. Setta Cohen-Richter (1891-1943) was born in Berlin and died in Auschwitz. Illustrated hardcover.
German, 110 pp., 21X15 cm. Good-reasonable general condition: the spine of the cover is missing, additional wear on the cover.
