The auction includes a stunning selection of rare children's books, including a double book by Benzion Raskin with avant-garde Russian graphics from 1922; Photographs and family photo albums from Palestine; the first Israeli edition of "Lolita" published by Stematsky; "Kinor Zion" with the original text of "Hatikva" (1900); a large variety of rare postcards; handwritten letters by individuals such as Arlozrov , Tschernihovsky and Moshe Dayan; And a large selection of ancient and rare books on diverse subjects, including Zionism, Judaism, the Holocaust and more. The Hebrew Language Dictionary, by Yehuda Gur - Munich, 1940s
Published by "Zionistische Shtime", Germany.
On top of the cover is printed: "Issued in a limited number of exemplars for the remainder of the exodus and remote camps in Europe. Distribution elsewhere is prohibited." First volume א-מ, second volume נ-ת. Probably came out around 1947-1948. Yehuda Gur (1862-1950) was a linguist, lexicographer, writer, educator and translator. One of the first Hebrew writers in Palestine.
Hebrew, 1,107 pp. (for both volumes), 21X15 cm. Light wear to the covers, the first volume cover is detached from the inside, otherwise in good condition.
