Letter to David Shimoni Announcing he Won the Bialik Prize - Signed by Mayor Rokach - 1937

Typed on official Tel Aviv Municipality paper.

The letter announces that at a meeting on July 3, 1937, the City Council approved the proposal of the jury on behalf of the Writers' Association to award Shimoni the H.N. Bialik Prize for Fine Literature.

"We are very happy that this prize associated with the name of the knight of Hebrew poetry - a symbol of the level and purity of creativity - has been won this time by one of his distinguished students and friends."

The letter is signed by Mayor Israel Rokach.

Given in a municipal envelope, with Shimoni's address.

Good condition.
