Self-Dedication Signature and stamps of Rabbi Ya'akov Chanoch Sankowitz. Ownership stamp of Rabbi Mordechai Yehuda Leib Abramzon of Warsaw. Handwritten glosses by Rabbi Sankowitz.
Rabbi Ya'akov Chanoch Sankowicz (1894-1917), disciple of Rabbi Meir Yechiel Holstok of Ostrowza. When the Admor Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter of Gur established Yeshivat Sfat Emet in 1925, he chose Rabbi Sankowitz to serve as Rosh Yeshiva. Also carried the economic burden of the yeshiva. He served as a member of the Council of Torah Sages of Agudath Israel and was President of the Kollel of Poland - Rabbi Meir Ba'al HaNess Fund for 25 years. He died suddenly on the first day of Rosh Hashanah 1957. He composed Chiddushei HaGrayach, Chidushei Sugiot and Responsa.
