Rabbi Shaul Mikketz Sheli - [1887-1970] The "Maggiyeh" was one of the greatest Rabbis of Jerba in the 20th century. Many of the greatest rabbis of the Jarba community in Tunis were his disciples. Among them: Rabbi Shlomo Mazuz, Rabbi Mordechai Sagron, Rabbi Raphael Kadir Ziban and many others. He spent all his nights copying and editing the writings of Tunisian rabbis. He translated, among other things, into Judeo-Arabic the laws of opinions of the Rambam, several books of the Chida and others. He also composed many liturgical poems, and when he moved to Israel, he lived in Shlomi.
