Dutch Anti-Semitic sign "VOOR JODEN VERBODEN"
Wooden Dutch anti-Semitic sign that reads 'VOOR JODEN VERBODEN'. In 1941, Jews in the Netherlands were banned from most public places like parks, pools, and museums. These "Voor Joden verbodenÂ" (Forbidden for Jews) signs became very common around towns and cities throughout the country. They were attached to buildings, gates, in buses and train cars and lamp posts. Of course very few of these survived after the German occupation had ended. A few of these have surfaced over the years but we have never seen one in such great condition. This one is near mint! This is a true museum piece that very few collectors and museums own.
