Commemorative crystal container with dedication. Judaik-Jewish Music Institute Vilnius. On the shore dedication: "To the Venerable Director, Mr. Rafał Rubinsztejn on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of his artistic work from a group of teachers on 17 January 1936"14x7x14.7x9 cm. Good condition. At the end of 1924, the Jewish Art Promotion Association in Vilnius founded the Jewish Music Institute / 6 Rudnicka Street /. Rafał Rubinsztejn became the director of the university - conductor of operas, operettas and symphony orchestras, teacher. Rafał Rubinsztejn / born around 1895 / in the early 1920s he settled in Vilnius, where he was the director of the Jewish Music Institute for a long time. He led an opera class there. Through the forces of the Institute, he staged in Yiddish Verdi's La Traviata, Puccini's Madame Butterfly, Moniuszko's Carmen "Bizet" "Halka", and fragments of Halevy's "Jewesses", Gounod's "Faust" and Verdi's "Aida". operetta in Vilnius, he was one of the conductors of the opera department of Reduta and for several seasons he conducted the operetta at the "Lutnia" theater.The aim of the Jewish Music Institute was to obtain higher musical education / theoretical and practical - within the scope of the full music course at the State Conservatory /.
