Monumental Buddha head, height ca. 90 cm, probably Southeast Asia of the 20th century.Buddha head made of hardwood (tropical wood), on a flat wooden base, Southeast Asia. Depiction of the typical attributes of a Buddha: long pierced earlobes reminiscent of his childhood and youth as a prince, a topknot (ushnisha) on the crown of his head as a reference to his life as an ascetic, and finally the half-closed eyes that do not return the viewer's gaze, but are turned inward in meditative contemplation. Dimensions: base 49 x 45 cm, height approx. 90 cm. Very good condition with slight signs of age and wear, natural cracking in the wood.Monumentaler Buddhakopf, Höhe ca. 90 cm, Südostasien des 20. Jh.Buddhakopf aus Hartholz (Tropenholz), auf einem flachen Holzsockel, Südostasien. Darstellung der typischen Attribute eines Buddha: lange durchstochene Ohrläppchen die an seine Kindheit und Jugend als Prinz erinnern, am Scheitel ein Haarknoten (Ushnisha) als Hinweis auf sein Leben als Asket und schließlich die halb geschlossenen Augen, die den Blick des Betrachters nicht erwidern, sondern in meditativer Versenkung nach innen gekehrt sind. Maße: Sockel 49 x 45 cm, Höhe ca. 90 cm. Sehr guter Erhaltungszustand mit leichten Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, natürliche Rissbildung im Holz. Gewicht 47kg
