Specifications: 56 [1] leaves, 16 cm. Thick paper. Wide margins.
Unique Features: The Ramchal's first book, which he wrote at about twenty years old, dedicated to his rabbi Rabbi Yeshayah Bassan. With an enthusiastic approbation from Rabbi David Finzi, rabbi of Italy, who later became his father-in-law, and an approbation from Rabbi Shimshon Cohen Modon. A poem by the printer in honor of the author is at the end of the book. Includes the last leaf with the errata which is not found in all of the copies. Rare book. Ownership signature on page 16: Avraham Chizkiyah Shalom, ownership signature on the title page: Yitzchak Rafael Finzi. A number of glosses in early handwriting.
Background: The Ramchal, one of the greatest authors of Jewish thought, authored many books and known primarily for his book Mesillat Yesharim.
Condition: Moderate-fine. Worming holes and blemishes on the first four leaves with minimal damage to text. Aging stains. Dismantled binding.
