The Inquisition and Judaism. A sermon addressed to Jewish martyrs by the Archbishop of Cranganor on the occasion of an auto da fe in Lisbon, 1705, and a reply to the sermon, by Carlos Vero 1845, London
First edition. A speech made in the city of Lisbon by the above Archbishop, before Jews condemned to burn on the stake on the 6th of September, 1705. Translated into English. With a response to his words by Rabbi David Nieto (1654-1728), the sage of the Spanish-Portuguese Community in London from 1701. He authored many books on philosophy, including: "’Mateh Dan’ the Second Kuzari." London, 1704 and more. An important, polemic work.
