Letter from Rabbi Elazar Simcha Wasserman
Letter written and signed by Rabbi Simcha Wasserman [son of Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman, may G-d avenge his blood] 1971.
The letter was sent towards one of the festivals. He writes: 'With great admiration, I will come to receive the great rabbi, the Av Beit Din shlit"a during the festival with wishes of life, peace, and joy of the festival, with happiness ... and may it be His will that we merit the complete redemption' His signature: 'Elazar Simcha Wasserman' is in the margins of the letter.
Rabbi Elazar Simcha Wasserman [1898-1993]: Rosh Yeshiva of Ohr Elchanan in the United States and founder of the yeshiva in Israel. Rabbi Elazar Simcha was the firstborn son of Rabbeinu Elchanan Wasserman. He first learned with his father in the Ohel Torah yeshiva in Baranovich, and after that in the yeshivas in Novordok, Telz, Grodno and Kletzk. He moved from Los Angeles to Israel in 1979 and settled in Jerusalem. He published his father's books, first among them Kovetz Shiurim, and wrote the introduction to the book. The discourses and articles written by Rabbi Simcha Wasserman are appended to Kovetz Maamarim V'Iggerot, written by his father. Some of his articles appear in the booklet Simchat Elazar.
