An important manuscript of Hatarat Nedarim and Tashlich - Asti (Italy), 1904
An ancient and important manuscript, which preserves the ancient prayer text of the custom of France, left in manuscripts and unprinted!
Historical background:
In the 14th century, the Jews of France were expelled, and some of them came to Italy. Most of the exiles from France accepted the prayer customs of the places they came to, but the Jews of the three communities: Asti, Pozano and Monclebo (APM) took care to continue their unique customs and thus preserved the ancient prayer customs of French jewry, Which is expressed mainly in special piyutim that were used to say in the high holidays.
APM communities were relatively small, and it did not pay for them to print their special Siddurim, so they used to copy the Siddurim and Machzorim by hand. That is, their special formulas and customs are now known only from manuscripts, like the manuscript before us.
The Item itself:
Order of Hatarat Nedarim and Tashlich - Asti (Italy), 1904.
The writing is in Stam square letters with Nikud. On the last page, there is a colophon - "Asti, 29 Adar 1904", and the signature of the author "Rafael Luzzatti Bar Mordechai Moshe" We know of other manuscripts he copied from the prayers of the members of the congregation for the high holidays.

About the Asti Jewish community:
Beginning in the 17th century, the Jews of the community were considered among the wealthiest of the city and had a major role un the cutys life in all aspects. Today the community numbers only a few Jews, formally affiliated with the Turin Jewish community, which is responsible for the religious needs of Asti Jews. In the city remains the synagogue building, from the 18th century, which opens only during one-time religious events. There is a museum in one of the synagogue rooms.
כתב יד עתיק וחשוב, המשמר את נוסח התפילה העתיק של מנהג צרפת!
רקע היסטורי:
במאה ה-14 גורשו יהודי צרפת, וחלקם הגיעו לאיטליה. רוב הגולים מצרפת קבלו עליהם את מנהגי התפילה של המקומות אליהם הגיעו, אך יהודי שלוש הקהילות: אסטי, פוסאנו ומונקלבו (אפ"ם) הקפידו להמשיך במנהגיהם הייחודיים ושימרו בכך את נוסח התפילה העתיק של מנהג צרפת, שבא לידי ביטוי בעיקר בפיוטים מיוחדים שנהגו לומר בימים הנוראים.
קהילות אפ"ם היו קטנות יחסית, ולא השתלם להם מבחינה ממונית להדפיס את סידוריהם המיוחדים, לכן הם נהגו להעתיק את הסידורים והמחזורים בכתב יד. כלומר, נוסחותיהם ומנהגיהם המיוחדים ידועים כיום רק מתוך כתבי יד, כמו כתב היד שלפנינו.

סדר התרת נדרים וסדר תשליך – אסטי (איטליה), תרס"ד.
כתיבת סת"ם מרובעת-איטלקית באותיות גדולות ומנוקדות. בעמוד האחרון קולופון - "אסטי, כ"ט אדר ה'תרס"ד", וחתימת הסופר "רפאל לוצאטי בר מרדכי משה" - סופר מפורסם בקהילה, שיתכן מאוד והיה גם הסופר הרשמי שלה. ידוע לנו על כתבי יד נוספים שהעתיק מתפילות בני הקהילה לימים נוראים.

על קהילת יהודי אסטי:
החל מהמאה ה-17 יהודי הקהילה נחשבו בין אמידי העיר ותפסו בה מקום מרכזי. כיום מונה הקהילה רק יהודים בודדים, המסונפים פורמלית לקהילת יהודי טורינו, האחראית לצרכים הדתיים של יהודי אסטי. בעיר נותר מבנה בית הכנסת, מהמאה ה-18, הנפתח רק בעת קיום אירועים דתיים חד-פעמיים. באחד מחדרי בית הכנסת קיים מוזיאון.
