Postcard - Altneuschul Synagogue of the Maharal of Prague.
Condition; Very Good.
Altneuschul: The Jewish Quarter of Prague is the oldest synagogue in Europe still active. The synagogue was built in 1270 and was built in Gothic style,
In the synagogue there were unique customs, most of which were instituted by the Maharal himself, the most prominent of which was the recitation of the psalm for the Sabbath day, twice as a Kabbalat Shabbat. To the synagogue, before the start of the Sabbath, and this time they recited this psalm again, and they accepted the Sabbath, and the original collection of customs was found on one of the walls of the synagogue.
Legend has it that the Golem of Prague is in the Geniza in the attic of the synagogue. The Maharal's seat, in front of the synagogue, is preserved to this day.
Next to the synagogue is the Jewish community building, above which is a special clock that uses Hebrew literature and moves from right to left.
