Terracotta juglet with lug handle.
Pinkish clay, pinched rim, pointed base and line at base of neck. Cf: Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, Jerusalem 1969, p. 111, no. 10 for similar. 19 x 7 cm. Intact.
Middle Bronze Age ca. 2150-1550 B.C.E. is the period of the patriarchs according to the Biblical narrative. It has the finest repertoire of ceramic production of all the biblical periods, characterized by the production of high quality pottery.
